Erin Ries is a graphic designer and artist from St. Paul Minnesota. She graduated from Iowa State University with a BFA in Graphic Design. She is also an art instructor at The Art Academy in St. Paul. There, she loves passing on knowledge to children about drawing, painting, color and composition. In her free time, Erin enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Weather permitting, her backyard deck is her favorite place to hang out with her two dogs. Erin finds inspiration for her creativity in everything around her. From the organic forms of the flowers in parks throughout the city, to the contrasting colors of the sign for the local bakery ... color and beauty is everywhere. She enjoys drawing and painting designs that incorporate both. Erin’s passion for color is very apparent in her choices of colors for her art.
